This is my second big box (4-book box) from Romance Reveal, after being subscribed to the 2-book box for several months. I hate to say it, but I was quite disappointed with this month’s box. 🙁 First, here’s the reveal:
- Signed copy of The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott
- Signed copy of Elements of Chemistry: Attraction by Penny Reid
- Signed copy of #Junkie by Cambria Hebert
- Signed copy of Cheater by Rachel Van Dyken
- Tea light candle from Etta Claire Candle Co.
- Coloring card for author Alexandria Bishop

- Card for Say You Want Me by Corinne Michaels

- Card for Teach by Jillian Quinn
- Bookmark for City of Sinners series by Jillian Quinn
- Magic 8-Ball Pen
I normally love everything (or nearly everything) in my box, but this month I was just disappointed. I read the summaries for all the books, but honestly none of them appealed to me.
Sadly, this month I was more excited about the swag than the books themselves.
There is a bright side, though! I’m a member of the Romance Reveal Swap Group on Facebook, so after taking pics of my box, I headed over there straightaway and offered to swap this month’s titles (along with a few from previous boxes that I’m unlikely to read any time soon). I managed to swap three books from this month’s box and in return, I’ll be getting three books that I’m more interested in, yay! The downside, however, is how much I spent on postage to mail those books to the people I swapped with. (Sidenote: apparently Media Mail is the way to ship, but I couldn’t make it to the post office until after work and Media Mail isn’t an option at the kiosk. I don’t want to tell you how much I spent for Priority Mail shipping, eek.)
As I said, I hate complaining about this month’s box because usually the boxes are amazing and I love them! This is the first out of nine boxes I’ve received that I didn’t like, so that’s not a bad track record. However, I did notice that a lot of other subscribers posted their books from this month in the swap group…more than I’ve seen in previous months. So maybe this month was just a quirk? That’s what I’m hoping.
The books I’m getting in my swaps are The Deep End by Kristen Ashley, Cade’s Loss by Selena Laurence, Dear Agony by Georgia Cates, and It Started with a Kiss by Marina Adair. (I swapped three and purchased Cade’s Loss from the swapper.) So everything will work out in the end, but I’ll chalk this up to lesson learned about the cost of postage, yikes.
Again, this is NOT the norm and I still love this subscription! I’m just glad that the swap group exists so that I’ll eventually end up with the books I really wanted to get this month.
