Current Reads

The Ghostwriter by Alessandra Torre
(Ebook, ARC from NetGalley)

This is a departure from Torre’s romance novels; it’s more in the vein of psychological fiction/suspense. It’s about a successful romance author who’s preparing to write her final novel. This woman has a dark secret. I’m about halfway through so far and I really like it.

Life or Something Like It

95% Better
I think I’m almost completely better, after being sick with a sinus infection for most of September. I’d say I’m feeling 95% better. Thankfully, I’m back in the swing of things with my reading schedule.

One America Appeal
Over recent weeks, I’ve been watching the news coverage of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. It’s easy to feel useless in the wake of such massive devastation, but even small things can make a big difference for someone else. I donated to One America Appeal, which is backed by former Presidents Carter, Bush (41), Clinton, Bush (43), and Obama. They’ve expanded their aid efforts in mainland U.S. to include Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. You also have the option to designate your donation for a specific recovery area.

PubforPR
Authors as well as others from the publishing industry are holding an online auction, PubforPR, taking place October 2-5 to raise funds for Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Here’s a complete list of the items up for auction. Alternatively, if you donate at least $15 directly to Unidos por Puerto Rico or ConPRmetidos, you’ll get a raffle entry for other prizes. Check the site for details!

Hope you have a great week! 🙂
