Current Reads

I’m finally reading Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre! I hope to finish it before the movie premieres on Passionflix on September 20. 🙂

Rough Rider by Aria Cole
(Ebook, Kindle Unlimited)

I was looking for a quick and dirty read, but this one didn’t work for me. There’s basically no relationship development, which I expect even in a novella-length book. It’s just straight to sexy times in Chapter 2. Also, the writing itself felt a little bland. I DNFed at 22%.

Life or Something Like It

Terminator 2 in 3D
Once I got over the challenge of wearing 3D glasses over my regular glasses, I had fun! (A smarter person would have planned ahead and worn her contacts, but honestly it didn’t even occur to me at the time.)

Black Mirror = Mind Blown
I watched a couple of episodes of Black Mirror a few months ago and then didn’t continue. (My Netflix queue isn’t quite as terrifying as my TBR, but it’s pretty lengthy in its own right.) Last night, I watched a few more episodes and my mind is blown by how good this show is. It’s very reminiscent of The Twilight Zone, which I also love.

Make It Work
Last week at work was…interesting. I had a couple of interactions with library patrons that were challenging–and in one case, downright rude on the patron’s part. I love my job, I’m thankful that I have a job, but it gets stressful sometimes working in customer service when people are nasty for no reason. One day this past week, I went to the bathroom for five minutes and cried because the patron upset me so much. Then I dried off my face and went back to work! Because that’s what you have to do.

Go Away, Irma
Living in Virginia, we won’t be getting much (if anything) from Hurricane Irma. If you or your loved ones are in the path of the storm, I hope you stay safe.

Have a great week!
